In saturated soil and sphagnum moss on pond shore, with Menyanthes trifoliata, Carex utriculata, C. illota, C. magellanica, C. angustior, Juncus tracyi, J. castaneus, Conioselinum scopulorum, Swertia radiata. uncommon. Pleistiscene glacial till of Pinedale age.
